WHO WE ARE ?

We are a team of young people from Romania. Each of us have been touched by a story and face of a child or woman in sexual exploitation.

Now, each of us want to make their voice heard and make a difference!

TRANSPARENCY IN OUR WORK

THEY SPEAK ABOUT US

  • The work asociatia FREE does is vital and greatly needed! When I talk about the 'work' I don't just think about the prevention campaigns, because there is so much more then that. The relationships they were able to build with girls on the streets, going out on a weekly basis, are so important! Girls know they can call them at any hour of the night; they have that kind of relationships! Something else I appreciate about F.R.E.E's team is that they did the 3D project with excellency (…) This project came from the heart. This is the kind of project that gets me exited because it was made out of passion

  • The need for prevention is great in Romania and we all do it : Asociatia F.R.E.E, ANITP, Eliberare, ADPARE, Caritas... There are many governement institutions and NGOs who have initiatives, but we believe that what is most needed in Romania is unity in the anti-trafficking efforts.

STORIES OF LIFE IMPACTED

  • I feel so much better! I feel like a different women now!

Anca* Lives outside under a hot water pipe. She comes by at the drop-in center for shower and clean clothe.
  • “Two weeks ago I was thinking of killing myself. I went into church and I feel on my knees and cried out to God "if you exist, please help me! And he did."

Camelia* started prostitution after running away from home to escape from sexual abuse. A friend 'rescued' her from the streets and introduced her to prostitution.
  • “I never felt close to any body as I felt with you. You are more then friends!”

Gina* Raised in an orphanage, has spent more then 20 years in prostitution. Today she is trying to take a new start and now has a job.
  • “I like when you come because we get an opportunity to talk about God. Other people come to us but they don't talk to us about God. But you do and I like that.”

Vicky Has been trafficked as a teenager from another eastern European country and remained in that lifestyle for the next 20 years.
  • When Sonia was trafficked to Western Europe by her abusing boyfriend she was only 18. Soon she discovered that the dream life he had promise was only a trick. She was forced into prostitution in a closed apartment. When our team found out about her and called her, she was terrify. Thanks to our connections we were able to organize with a local NGO a rescue operation. They took great care of her. Last year Sonia got baptize. She started school again. Her life has been transformed!

  • During the first year we met Paula, she wouldn't even look at us. We would greet her, offer her warm drinks, but she would always refuse and turn her back. She looked frighten. After a year, Paula one day decided to share her life story with a team member. She shared about the sexual abuses of her step father and how she was trafficked when she ran away from home. One Paula shared with us how exited she was after finding a new testament on the ground. She started reading it and would share her reading week after week. Soon, she asked for the old testament too. She also started watching christian programs on TV. Slowly, she started to change. She would smile and even laugh at our jokes. Still for the next two years she always decline our invitations. During the past Christmas, she came for the first time to the party we organized. She sang with us with all her heart, listen to the stories, even cried. We continue to pray for her and we know God is working I her heart and that soon she will fully understand what it means to be HIS daughter.
